NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Hayes County Board of Commissioners will be in session on September 30, 2024, commencing at 8:30 a.m. CT, or as soon thereafter as said meeting can be held, in the Hayes County Courthouse, 505 Troth Street, Hayes Center, Nebraska. Said session will be open to public attendance.
The agenda, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection during normal courthouse business hours, in the office of the County Clerk. Except for items of an emergency nature, said agenda will not be altered later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled commencement of said meeting.
Employment Opportunities
Sign Technician (Part-Time)
Purpose: The Hayes County Board of Commissioners is
soliciting applications for a part-time sign technician who will be
responsible for the installation, inspection, replacement, and
documentation of the county road signs.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the county sign truck to perform maintenance and installation of traffic signs in the county.
- Inspect existing county road signs and install where necessary.
- Replace county road signs when damaged.
- Complete all documentation for sign inspections, installations, and replacements.
- Maintain sign truck by keeping it clean and performing oil changes and other maintenance necessities.
Requirements:
- Must possess valid Nebraska driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The Hayes County Board of Commissioners will seek proposals from individuals interested in providing services for Hayes County in the following areas for the 2024 calendar year: Courthouse janitor, courthouse maintenance and snow removal, courthouse lawn care and maintenance.
Proposals may be submitted for a separate service or a combination of multiple services. For information regarding each service, please contact the Hayes County Clerk at 308-286-3413.
Applications and proposals will be reviewed and considered at the December 29, 2023 Commissioner meeting held at the Hayes County Courthouse. Proposals may be faxed to (308) 286-3208 or mailed to the Hayes County Clerk, PO Box 370, Hayes Center, NE 69032. All faxed or mailed proposals must be received by December 28, 2023 at 9:00 A.M.
